World Cup madness has kicked off! While most of us will be watching the matches on our Television sets some of you might be headed to Brazil. And this time Google will help you navigate through the streets of this Southern American country. Starting on the 6th of June Google has brought in the Brazil street view. It’s not for the entire country but for the 12 stadiums where the matches are scheduled, along with some other selected locations.
Apart from the stadiums and the surrounding areas other sites like the Painted streets; St. Michael of the Missions and Iguaçu National Park will be available on Google maps. This street view is great for those of us who will be viewing the streets and the big game on TV. But if you are one of those lucky few who will be attending the game then make sure to update your Google maps for mobile.
This app has got a Transit feature that will guide you through the stadium and other destinations. Then there are the indoor maps that will guide you through more than 100 destinations. With the turn-by-turn navigation you can get a point to point info about a particular place, get traffic info, and voice guided directions as well.
With this, Google is not only expanding the street view but also trying to make their presence felt during the games. On the other hand Google map is something that most of us use for finding direction. By bringing in the Brazil street view the Google maps app will definitely become one of the most used apps during the FIFA World Cup 2014. However if you are planning to use the app inside the stadium then it is recommended to get a good international package because only six stadiums have Wi-Fi.
So for those of us who will be viewing the match on TV we will be able to stroll around the streets through our laptops. But for those of you who will be viewing this spectacular event live the Google Maps app will help you navigate the streets of this amazing country like a pro.
